Mostar, Bosnia & Herzegovina - Our Center had the honor of hosting Sean Pavone, one of the most successful and influential contemporary American photographers.

Known for his almost surreal panoramas of global metropolises, Pavone is an artist who has set high standards in the visual aesthetics of the digital age.

During his visit, Pavone became thoroughly acquainted with the work of the Center for Peace, as well as with the complex wartime and post-war history of Mostar. A special focus of the discussions was the remarkable process of rebuilding the city and the Stari Most—a symbol of reconciliation protected by UNESCO.

As a professional who has spent his life seeking architectural beauty and historical significance, Sean was presented with Mostar’s journey from destruction to the renewed rise of its most valuable landmarks.

His impressive portfolio, comprising more than 23,000 works, regularly appears in some of the world’s most prestigious publications such as National Geographic and Frommer's.

With over 100,000 licenses sold worldwide, Sean is an author whose photography shapes the visual identity of cities such as Tokyo, New York, and Paris. His visit to Mostar provided a unique opportunity to view the city through the lens of global standards in visual storytelling.

Discussions also touched on the evolution of digital media and how to capture—through the lens—the spirit of a city that, like Mostar, has rebuilt both its architecture and its identity.

The exchange highlighted the importance of documenting places like Mostar with accuracy and depth, ensuring that its past and transformation remain visible to global audiences.
